My name is Carry, I’m a 34 year old mom, a former chronic hemorrhoid sufferer and this is my website. I’ve strived to put together a resource database with everything there is to know about hemorrhoids: medical facts about both internal and external hemorrhoids, how to prevent this condition from developing, hemorrhoid treatment options, what causes them, average symptoms, hemorrhoid diagnosis procedures, product reviews etc. I’ve gathered this great amount of information so that you can find answers to all of your questions in one place and to help you save hours of research on this subject. On my website you’ll be able to find all the advice you need, but if you want to skip ahead and not read everything, just click here to see what finally cured my hemorrhoids.
My first problems with hemorrhoids (a.k.a. piles) started immediately after I gave birth to my son, when I was 31 years old. The condition was most probably triggered by the strain of giving birth as my blood vessels were stressed out. I later discovered that between 20 and 50 percent of women get hemorrhoids after delivering their first baby. This means that many of my mom-friends have had them at least once until now and yet they never mentioned anything to me.
Anyway, immediately after giving birth I noticed a painful bump in my rectal area which gave me strong jolts of pain whenever I wanted to sit down or when I moved suddenly. As I later found out, it was an internal bleeding hemorrhoid. It was so painful that I barely could go about my daily life without wanting to cry every few minutes, which was especially difficult for me as I had to constantly look after my infant baby. I’m normally an active person, who likes to go jogging and hiking, and after the pregnancy I desperately needed to get back in shape and to continue my training, but it was practically impossible due to my intimate problem.
After a while, at a friend’s suggestion, I went to visit a colorectal surgeon in order to see what solutions I have. He told me that my hemorrhoid was just about to become prolapsed, which means that it was about to pop out through my anal opening. Of course, he immediately suggested that I should undergo surgery and he prescribed me the drug analpram as a preparation to that because the thrombosis was already too big.
I was really scared at the thought of having to go thorough surgery for several reasons: I knew it was going to be painful, the costs would have been in the thousands if not more, I needed to take care of my newborn and I could not leave that to someone else, plus the doctor told me that there is no guarantee that I’ll get rid of my hemorrhoid for good, as it could make a comeback after the surgery. I then took the decision that surgery should be my last option and, on my own risk, I started to look for an alternative cure to this embarrassing rectal condition.
I then tried several different over the counter hemorrhoid medicine such as creams, ointments, suppositories and pills for varicose veins. They all did a great job at moisturizing the area and bringing me some much needed pain relief, which made it possible for me to move around like a normal person. However, they did not make the hemorrhoid go away as I initially thought. So I waited for a while, but after two weeks I lost patience and I went on a new quest in order to find the best hemorrhoid treatment for my case. I finally go a lucky beak, after I stumbled upon a natural cure for piles and eventually my swelling vanished within a few days. When everything else seemed to fail, this natural solution finally cured me.
If you are reading this page right now, chances are that you know for sure or you suspect that you might have hemorrhoids. If this is your case, the first thing to do is to take a deep breath, relax and don’t worry excessively about it because hemorrhoids are not life threatening (although they might be a real pain in the ass, pun intended J) and with adequate hemorrhoid treatment they’ll be gone in a matter of days.
Now, I know that this is a delicate matter and that it might be sometimes a bit difficult to talk about it with other people mostly due to the ‘shame factor’, as I like to call it. This is yet another reason why I have put all this information together for you. But even if you might find the answers you are looking for on this website, remember that it is always advisable to talk to your doctor about your condition.
If you don’t have hemorrhoids or any of their symptoms and you just enjoy reading about this subject (what other interesting hobbies do you have?) you should know there is about a 50% chance of you getting hemorrhoids at least once in your life time. More likely if you are a male and less likely if you are a female, mostly because men like to spend more time on the toilet reading the paper (funny but somewhat true, read more about it here).
